The similarities can be seen in the first world countries, in the United States for example the people of color, in which the poor, those without regular or no access to health services and the undereducated are overrepresented, those people are at a higher risk of getting affected with the disease in comparison to others. The statistics underline this Aspect, as about 45% of the cases were among African Americans and about 20% were among the Hispanics (People with an origin from Spain or Latin American counties). To bring this in to contrast these groups only represent about 12% and 13% of the US population. There are factors that increase the spreading of HIV/AIDS and increase the speed it is spreading. These factors are: economic instability, migration, social factors, environmental factors, increased rates of sexually transmitted diseases, poverty and drug use.

In Latin America and the Caribbean there’s an estimated number of 1.6 million people living with HIV/AIDS, significant for this region is that the number of people affected differs greatly between the countries and even within the country itself and therefore the ways of transmission differ between the different countries. The greatest transmission category is the injection of drugs through intravenous needle usage. Another transmission method famous for this region is the transmission through heterosexual people, this mainly occurs due to their sex practices. The number of people affected by HIV/AIDS is also continuing to grow.

If we take a closer look at Africa, it is clear that this continent has been the one that has been the most affected by the pandemic. The sub- Saharan Africa has the highest infection level in the world, the lowest level of access to healthcare and has a very unstable economy. The African continent on its own is responsible for almost 70% of the global total of HIV positive people and respectively to that it is responsible for over 80% of the people that have died
