Ebola

The first Ebola outbreak was reported between September 1, and October 24 of 1976. 318 cases of actual viral hemorrhagic fever in the northern Zaire. They were 280 deaths and only 38 survivals from the outbreak. The number one patient that start the outbreak, received an injection five days prior for malaria symptoms at an outpatient clinic (YMH) known as Yambuku Mission Hospital. Within a week several other patients come down with the same symptoms and or received the same injection for Malaria symptoms. After 11 days the clinic close reported 17 staff members lost their life for being expose to the Ebola.

Since 1976 other larger outbreaks have been reported again in Zaire in 1995 (315 cases), Uganda in 2000-2001 (425 cases), and in the Republic of the Congo in 2007 (264 cases). The largest so far ongoing outbreak across multiple countries in West Africa. Number of patients is constantly evolving due to the ongoing investigation. So far reported cases 27,734 with a death count of 11,283. This last outbreak started March of 2014 and still getting reports of more case every day.

In US four cases of Ebola have been identify started on September 2014 the first patient was treated at a Texas hospital after a recent trip to Liberia the patient died on October 8. Two other Texas hospital employees were identify with Ebola symptoms both of this employees were in contact with the first patient, both employees were treated promptly and both recover from illness. The fourth patient identify late October 2014 after being in contact with other Ebola patient from Guinea as the Texas workers was treated for Ebola symptoms and recover completely by November 11 2014.
