Analysis of Two Children Websites for Music Education

        DSO Kids is a children’s website centered around music education. The website uses bright colors and pictures which set a lively tone and attract a younger generation of musicians. As well as the color scheme it is clear through the programs and games listed on the website that the site is intended for students in elementary or middle school who are interested in music. The many activities and tabs include games, activities and youth program information useful for curious children and teachers looking for external materials to provide their students.

The website provides a clear and concise layout which makes navigating the page easy for people of all ages. As well as this, it is made clear on the home page that the website is a trusted source for information and resources as it is a product of the well-known Texas instruments foundation, a company which has been providing to Texas public schools for years. Teachers would most likely refer their students to this website in order to help them become more excited by music. As well as this, teachers can let parents know about programs and shows that their children could attend, all listed on the website.

Overall the website provides a lot of information and is easy to use for both students and teachers, making it an overall successful website. In terms of value, the website makes good use of space and tightly packs a lot of information into one website without making it seem overwhelming, most likely to attract a younger audience who wish to better inform themselves without wanting to read for a long time. This website is a model website in that it has all of the enticing features a children’s website should have and so is perfect for the age group it is appealing to.
