There are many types of law enforcement agencies in atlanta where I live. The city police is the Atlanta Police Department. Their mission statement is to create a safer Atlanta by reducing crime, ensuring the safety of our citizens and building trust in partnership with our community. Atlanta Police department covers the metro area of atlanta in fulton county. I happen to live in Dekalb county, where the Dekalb police enforce laws. Dekalb Police department became enacted in 1914. The go by this mission statement which is to promote the social and economic well being of the citizens of DeKalb County by providing exceptional services through highly trained and qualified staff. I reside in Doraville another city in Atlanta and Doraville has an Municipal court that enforces laws on traffic citations. The state of Georgia where i'm from has an agency called the Georgia Department of Corrections. It is known to be the largest agency in the state that goes by a mission statement to protect and serve the public by managing offenders and helping to provide a safe and secure environment for the state’s residents. I am an employee currently with the Georgia Department of Corrections as a Parole/Probation certified officer. My office is the Atlanta Central Probation office a branch under the department of corrections. It is also known to have one of the largest prison systems in the United States. One agency that i'm interested in working for is a federal agency in Georgia called the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. It is an independent federal agency
