The odyssey which is written by homer, Odysseus put all the blame on his crew for a lot of the tragic that happen to all of them. Odysseus blames them for everything, because he cannot take responsibility for the actions that he is doing, but it’s mostly his fault for a lot of them. I think Odysseus is a great leader, but his ego get in the way of many things instead of leading his crew and he does not do what is best for the crew. Even though Odysseus was trying to be a good leader, he did not communicate with his crew about the bag, he did not trust his men, and he fell asleep on the ship.

Odysseus is not very good with his communication skills. Odysseus was trying his best to lead his men but he was lacking in one of the most important area with his crew. When he was heading back to Ithaca with the bag from Aeolus’ he fails to communicate with his men what was in the bag. They united the bag, because they wanted to see what was in the bag, and all the winds got away from them, and swept them back to sea, wailing in tears, far from their native land. The crew united the bag, because Odysseus was not communicating, he was hiding the treasure in the bag. It was not their intentions to blow the ship back into the sea, it was very bad leadership by Odysseus, because he was keeping a secret about from his crew mates. In addition, I believe the entire situation could have gone a different way if Odysseus would have told his crew-mates what was in bag so they did not have to be so curious. This was all Odysseus’ fault, because they crew did not do anything wrong. This proves that Odysseus was not a good communicator. Since, he did not have to best communication technique, he cannot be a good leader.
