Summer Vacasion in California

This summer we went to California for our Summer Vacation. My parents purchased a bike rack and we were allowed to bring our bikes with us on the trip. My brother and I didn't care where we went as long as we could bring our bikes with us. We visited a lot of different cities, Fresno to see the new addition to the family. We also visited cities like Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Sonoma, Vallejo, and Petaluma. The town that I had the most fun in was a small little town called Pleasanton.

Pleasanton is just how the name sounds, nice and clean. It's one of thoughts towns that if you were planning on raising a family, you would choose it. All the houses had nice manicured lawns, and people worked on them every day. They also had home cooked food, we ate at this Country Café. I had a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. It was big and juicy with lots of meat, one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

After lunch we went to the Pleasanton BMX Park. The pro line there was awesome. It had the biggest jumps I had ever done. The locals called the jump "leap of faith". All the local kids at the park were scared to jump it. By the second day, I was not only jumping the "leap of faith", I was having my little brother stand under it, while clearing both of them. Everyone at the park had stopped riding, and was cheering me on. It was awesome and my dad got a picture of me doing it. The kids said, "Those Vegas Boys sure do know how to jump"! I was the star of the park that day and it sure felt good, but it didn't start out that way.

When we first arrived at the park, I had never road on dirt before. Looking at the jumps they looked huge. I wasn't going to let my little brother know that even I was a little intimidated by them. I just kicked back and watched everybody to see what lines they were taking. Then I decided I would start with the easiest route, remember I have never been on dirt jumps before. Las Vegas is made up of mostly concrete skate parks.
