Context 1

For this research paper, I want to investigate student grade retention and school drop outs that are caused by grade retention. Grade retention, which is repeating a grade is happening all across the United States from elementary through high school. My question which is, what are the impacts on students repeating a grade, it is worth investigating because the percentage of students that are repeating a grade is increasing and dropout rates are increasing as well. Also, I am trying to figure out what is causing this issue and how to prevent it. My plan for finding resources is to gather annotated articles together, which could help me paraphrase and could back me up with factual information.

When students drop out, the rate of students in school drops down also, which makes this issue important because we as a country need to make education better for the students by creating programs that could help the students and solve this issue by not attempting
