Trip to India

I traveled to India with my family this Christmas break. We went to many cities in India, such as Bombay, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Delhi, etc. My trip to India greatly affected my life, I became more understanding person and my views changed about my education when I went back to India.

Preparation for my sister’s wedding in India. My family and I went shopping for our traditional Indian wedding attire. As we walked to the shops, we notice many small, starving children standing out in front of the building. Some of the children were as young as 5 to 6 years old, and were dirty with very little clothing. They attached themselves to us, all the while begging us for food and money. They didn’t let us alone. As I looked at them, I felt bad for them, and gave them a few dollars. Some do manual labor work because they are not educated. I talked to some of these children many of them never even heard the Word University. I understood what life was like for these young children. They told me some interesting and valuable stories, and enjoyed listening to them.

I asked them where they lived, and they replay me they built tents out of old clothes from the garbage and place those over two wobbly sticks. I asked them when it rained what you doing; they replay me they used plastic bags to cover themselves. As night approaches all the begging children cry out loud so that the wealthier people pity them and give them food.

When I asked my uncle, who lives in India, whether these children have ever been to school, he replied that many of the children was already adapted to this life and school was out of their reach. As he was telling me these things, various thoughts went across my mind. I understood what life was like for these young children. I realized that these children must truly suffer a life of poverty and illiteracy and they will never have the chance to fulfill their
