Every day, children all over the world are suffering from child abuse. The purpose of the advertisement is to provide a service to persuade people, especially adults, to report child abuse if and when they see it happening in their community.

To achieve my aim- making the reader aware of the service, I gave the advertisement a colorful background and eye- catching colors in order to make it more attractive and catch the reader’s attention at first glance. The headline ‘It’s your turn to make a difference’ proposes a discussion on what people should do to make a difference for a better life. Opposite the colorful text and graphics are very dreary black and white pictures. These depict little boys and girls whose faces are distraught and eyes reflect hopelessness. Those pictures are effective as they give the reader a sad image of children being abused and also persuade people to support and protect them.

The advertisement utilizes simple language that is easy to understand. However, the advertisement ensures, all necessary information, what people need to do, who to contact and how, are provided clearly and concretely. In addition, the advertisement speaks directly and touchingly at the targeted people via using the word ‘you’. There are the headline and side introduction which have some variety of size and density to fit the layout and position of the text. The key words ‘Listen’ and ‘Care’ are highlighted to assure that the targeted people will receive the best care from the service. The name and the logo of the organization are written in capital letters and the contact number is provided in large font size at the bottom so that the reader will remember it effortlessly. After all, the emphasis of the advertisement is on persuading the reader to make a difference in the statistics of 6 million cases of child abuse go unreported.
