Essay Exam: All I asking for is my body

In the book All I asking for is my body by Milton Murayma, Tosh is the number one son and Kiyo is the younger brother. Their parents have a 6,000 dollar debt that they have to pay and they expect Tosh to be a good filial son and help pay off the dept. Tosh does not like to listen to what his parents have to say and do not agree with them that he has to pay off the debt for them so Tosh is always getting into a fight with his parents. Kiyo keeps everything to himself even though inside he agrees with Tosh and does not think that it is fair that they have to pay off the family debt. Even though Tosh and Kiyo agree with each other, Tosh and Kiyo have different ways dealing with the situation that they are put in to be good filial sons.

With me it's different. I like school" (Page 30). Tosh feels like his parents are holding him back from doing things because of his parent's debt. Once Tosh gets into boxing and wants out even more, his fighting with his mother gets worse. His mother thinks that they can depend on Kiyo to be a better filial son because Tosh does not care. At times Tosh wishes that he was not he number one son so that he does not have the filial duties put on him because he really does not agree with it. Even after Tosh got married he still gave his family money to pay off the debt even though he did not want to. Because Tosh is the rebel in the family and is going against what he is supposed to do, Kiyo is starting to get ideas out into his head.

Kiyo and Tosh might think the same about their parents and the filial duty,
