1- Would you classify Richard Branson as a manager or a leader? What qualities distinguish him as one over the other?

Branson is considered as a leader because:

1. He is a challenger: he stepped up and took an action for his life, and worked on his idea of "Student" magazine.

2. He hires the right people and inspires them to bring out the best ideas and support those ideas.

3. He trusts them to do the work and be responsible to run their own ideas.

4. He runs his business with an Innovative approach: he holds no regular board meetings & has no business headquarters.

5. He has the ability to connect with people, so they trust him (e.g flight attendant)

6. He is a challenger and risk taker: he crossed the Atlantic Ocean by boat and by hot air balloon

7. He is mostly like “neuro linguistic programmatic” who interests in encouraging others ideas rather than create them which appears in his creative attitude.

8. He is "Out of the box" thinker and breaks the rules of common sense: he has the idea of space tourism.

His main purpose wasn’t how much money he gains, but how to lead people dream to reality and achievements and overcomes obstacles and hardships. . He has obvious sense of encouragement, cooperation, working as a team work and his optimistic view towards life and others thoughts. In addition to his approach of professional ethics , success , optimism and progress.

2- As mentioned earlier in this chapter, followers are part of the leadership process. Describe the relationship between Branson and his followers.

As we considered Branson as a leader, he should have followers which are mentioned
