In this week 2 paper I would like to discuss some past suggestions for a former company I worked for where I recognized room for improvement. I will also explain why I believe the decision was a good one.

I was a former employee for a small Air Conditioning company and I remember being part of some of the company decisions, or at least I was able to offer my opinion and assistance. All employees were able to play a part in finding solutions to some of the ongoing problems that had some kind of effect on the company. We would also be able to find ways to save money for the company and offer deals to customers that would increase sales.

We always had regular group meetings that included managers and our general manager. Every month we would monitor any sales or changes and see if profits have increased or decreased. I was excited to know that two of my ideas were implemented by the company’s owner and did very well with sales although the change was not by much.

I was told I would soon be offered a higher position if I was able to continue with my ways with keeping the company in a good pattern. I received the chance to travel with one of my managers to see some of the responsibility in a higher position and some of the changes that would have gone into effect. I was also able to see some of the company’s choices in managing their money and decided where and when to implement sales.

At the time the company did not offer direct deposit as a way to save money and the owner never did the research in any changes so I put my best foot forwards and took the time to search for solutions to make everyone happy while not making a big impact on cost. I recommended that: (Premise 1) we start to offer direct deposit and although it cost money we have backup plans to make up for it. (Premise 2) Utilizing ads and reach out to a more broad selection of customers(Premise 3) Start using electronic documents while also having a backup in case things go wrong.
