  1. Executive Summary

Dialog Axiata PLC (Dialog) is the leading Mobile Telecommunications network operator in Sri Lanka. The Group provides communication services in the segments of Mobile, Fixed, Broadband and Internal Gateway Services. The companies under the Group are also involved in providing Telecommunication Infrastructure services such as Tower Infrastructure and Transmission Services, media such as Satellite, Cable and Terrestrial, Digital Services and Digital Commerce such as Mobile and eCommerce, electronic payments like Mobile Payment, digital health, education, navigation and enterprise services and business process outsourcing services.

Dialog has been at the forefront of innovation in the mobile industry in Sri Lanka since late 90s propelling the nation’s mobile telephone infrastructure to a standard on par with the developed world. The Company conveys propelled rapid mobility portable broadband services to a supporter base of 11.8 Million Sri Lankans, by means of 2.5G and 3G/3.5G and 4G networks. In April 2013 Dialog became the first service provider in South Asia to commence commercial operations of mobile 4G-LTE services. The Company also provides a range of International Roaming Services across a global footprint, comprising more than 200 countries and operates a wider range of, international telecommunication services including retail and wholesale international voice and data services and much more.

Dialog through its fully owned subsidiaries provides such comprehensive network of inter connected Services and Businesses, cross selling each Services and finally helping the bottom line of the Group. The Company also remitted LKR 10.7 Billion to the Government of Sri Lanka as direct income tax, fees and levies. Company also collected a further LKR 21.0 Billion as indirect taxes on behalf of the government. Thus, Dialog Axiata being one of the largest corporate contributors to the Sri Lanka’s economy remitting a total of LKR 31.7 Billion as direct and indirect taxes during 2016, an increase of 15% compared with 2015.
