Cisco Systems, Inc. is an American multinational corporation founded in December 1984. Its corporate headquarters is located in San Jose, California. Cisco Systems creates, produces and sells networking equipment. They are the leader worldwide in Internet Technology that helps companies reach the available connection opportunities of the future. Cisco has shaped how the Internet will be used in the future by producing exceptional values and opportunities for their customers, employees, stockholders and environmental associates.

Cisco Systems has an organization culture based on customer focus, clear communications, employee equality, integrity and thriftiness. They have given their culture a new approach with the customer as the main priority. An important part of Cisco’s genetic makeup is creating a long lasting relationship with the customer and working with them to identify their needs and provide solutions that will enable them to succeed. Their culture is motivated by high values of corporate reliability and by giving back using the world’s resources for a positive worldwide effect. Through corporate goodwill and cooperation they are building strong and productive communities in which everyone has the means to live, the opportunity to learn and the chance to give back.

Cisco Systems’ recruitment process also reflects its culture. They are serious about finding and keeping employees. Cisco has been described as a fast-paced, fun loving, exciting, friendly, team-oriented and flexible place to work. It has been ranked in the top 10 companies to work for. Giving back to the community is highly valued. Teamwork, conservation and open communications are also among the values of Cisco’s organization work culture.

Cisco Systems’ internal communication approach and attention is first, being constant so that people know what is coming next. Second, it is delivering the intended message to the right people at the right time. Third, is realizing that the same type of communication does not work for everyone. Currently, Cisco has internal Intranets called the Cisco Employee Connection (CEC). The Intranet is their tool for communicating any news or information regarding the company. Cisco also uses multiple channels for internal communications such as emails, video, blogs and live broadcasts over the Internet.
