When giving such a speech on prison reform, I personally do not believe that the poll addressing anybody’s opinion to be important in this situation. Although I can say that giving the right and accurate information is the most ethical manner of approach, along with good examples with solid evidence which will allow the audience to come up with their own opinion.

In this case I would go back and cross check that I am positive on my thoughts on plagiarism. If it is recited in the exact format, word for word I would bring it to the speakers attention that I believe he or she forgot to cite the work because I have come across the article in the past. If they argue in this case then I would bring it to the teacher’s hearing or concern.

I will not use the quote because it defeats the purpose of persuasion to the audience. Instead I would find another quote that relates to the point I am trying to get across so the audience will not be thrown off track.
