In contemporary society, the evidence notes that the physical activity is the biggest positive effect on health and can be used to change the life styles (Persson, Brorsson, Hansson, Troein & Strandberg, 2013). However, physical activity is not a popular activity among people who are singled. They are willing to spend more time suffering the Internet at home rather than doing physical activities. This literature review will discuss about why single men and women do not participate physical activities.

Rimmer and Marques (2012) show that the lack of physical activities is a serious public health concern for single men and women. More specifically, an intensive working schedule is the main factor why people are less likely to do regular activity; the reason is that after work time becomes very valuable because today people often have a heavy workload (Godbey, 2003). Indeed, single people working under enormous stress and a heavy workload require more time to relax and recover for the next day, and seeking leisure time to do physical activities is a challenge for these people. Rather, the other sort of barriers to occur single men and women do not participate physical activities were organizational and communication barriers. According to Brown, Salmon and Burton (2006), single people are not only required to be in a pleasant and safety phenomenon and environments to be active, but also need external motivation and encourage. Furthermore, Bialeschki (1999) starts, single women will be experience more barriers when participating in physical activity. As illustrated by Bowes, Dawson, Jepson and McCabe (2013), these barriers include lack of female role models, low income to pay activity fees and purchase equipment, caring demands, getting embarrassing about inappropriate clothing and lack of basic skills, safety concerns and lower socioeconomic status. In addition, many women would not have sufficient interests to do exercise.
