Depression. Loneliness. Both of these are serious , life threatening conditions that have terrible effects on the human mind as a well as body. These are just a couple of problems Holden Caulfield faces in the book A Catcher in the Rye. Good Afternoon, my name is ________. These are my colleges ______, _______, and _______. We are here, in front of you today, to address these issues and to give a possible way to inform the world about the seriousness of each. The way in which we intend to inform the public of the dangers of Loneliness/Depression is by making a movie of the book mentioned before, Catcher in the Rye. We chose to make a movie for this book because it contains examples throughout the book in which the main protagonist, Holden, is suffering from loneliness and depression. You see throughout the book that it really affects his judgment and health. One scene in particular that truly shows Holden's loneliness while in New York is the scene where Holden hires a prostitute while he is staying at a hotel. The prostitute arrives but he refuses to partake in any sexual activity. He would rather stop and talk to her. This shows that he was so lonely at that time that he would even pay someone to spend time with him. Our organization that we have created to address these issues is the Organization for Reaching out to the Growing Youth (ORGY). We are an organization dedicated to fighting loneliness and depression within the youth of America. We are also a production company who makes films to bring awareness about the subject. We are hoping that you would let us film a movie based on your book. Possible actors are Michael Cera as Holden, Jonah Hill as Stradlater, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Ackley, Madison Pettis as Phoebe. You might be wondering how making this movie will help people with depression and loneliness. Well since most people watch movies instead of reading this is a good way.
