1.      Bureaucracy - a system of government in which most of the important decisions are made by state officials rather than by elected representatives.

2.      Bureaucrats - an official in a government department, in particular one perceived as being concerned with procedural correctness at the expense of people's needs.

3.      Administration - the officials in the executive branch of government under a particular chief executive

4.      Staff agency - serve in a support capacity

5.      Line agency – perform the tasks for which the organization exists

6.      Executive office of the president - EOP

7.      Federal budget – a very detailed of receipts and expenditures

8.      Fiscal year – the 12 month period used by government and business for record keeping, budgeting, and financial management purposes

9.      Domestic affairs – all maters not directly connected to the realms of foreign affairs

10.   Executive departments – self explanatory

11.   Secretary – the head of stuffes

13.    independent agencies – large number of separate agencies

14.    independent executive agencies – most of the bigger independent agencie that have extreamely important public tasks to perform

15.    independent regulatory commisions –largely beyond the presidential control and direction

16.    quasi-legislative – seemingly

17.    quasi-judical – seemingly

18.     government corporation – within the presidential control and direction

19.     civil servise – composed of those civilian employees who perform the administrative work of government

20.     spoils system – the practice of giving offices and other favors of government to political supporters and friends
