FRENCH REVOLUTION

**5 causes of the French Revolution

1. Absolute Monarch

-absolute total control from the king or queen, no one has a voice but them

2. Estate System

-social inequality

-people are broken up into 3 estates

a) clergy, cathlic church, religious people

b) nobles, land owners, people with money and power

c) everyone else (peasants, surfs) 98% very few rights

3. Economic Injustice

-tax system

-3rd paying all of the taxes so the first and the second estate can live better

4. The Enlightenment

-ideas from it influences the revolution

-bc of the natural rights or everyone new law

5. Other Revolutions

-Glorious Revolution

-where the British demanded more rights and the king had to give it to them (add)

**Three Stages of the French Revolution

1. Tennis Court Oath

- king calls a gov meeting of the estates general which 2 estates can overrule the other one. third estate realizes to for their own government and called it the National Assembly making itself independent. storming of the bastille.

2. Great Fear

-mobs going absolutely crazy burning houses castles manners and killing people
