Heneral Luna

Heneral Luna is a historical film that was directed by Jerrold Tarog. He was the commander of the revolutionary army. At that time a war was happening against the Philippine and America. The cabinet member was arguing about deepining the relationship of Americans and Filipinos, some of them are saying that the Americans are trustworthy but Heneral Luna was not agreeing, because for him the foreign country was plotting something against the them.  He simply fight for his country together with the soldiers. Ultimately, it is the generals temper and pride that bring him in to his death when a pack of guards assasinate him in broad daylight. But Heneral Luna's death was still a mystery that has been never been solve and the killers was not put into justice.

It is a story of how brave Heneral Luna is to fight his own country against the American. His patriotism is so advocate that he risk his own life for the country. But not all Filipinos are like him some are traitors. In my opinion this story brings up the attitude and traits of every Filipino. I can see that the politicians are tempted in their position on the government and their doings are not appropriate for the country. But I salute all those Filipinos who voluntarily fight for the country and unite as one. They are not afraid to die but they are looking forward to be free from the Americans. On the other hand, I think Heneral Luna has his own principles on his decision that's why his colleagues didn't like him. His attitudes sometimes are not accurate that leads other people into shame. In some ways Heneral Luna was right but being too much is not good anymore.  Many people put grudge to him that leads to his death.

The film has a great influence on our politics today because it states that power can conquer everything. We the Filipino people should be responsible in choosing our leaders. For me our President Rodrigo Duterte is like General Luna because they have the same attitude especially the temper and pride but also I can see on the decision that he is deciding. He somewhat said that we should'nt depend on the other countries but to stand with ourselves.
