It’s seems that students are ‘addicted’ to texting these days. I have known students who have thousands of texts per month.

Text messaging in schools causing a lot of problems including lack of concentration is greater, greater responsibility put on teachers and it destroys your English grammar.

The informal campus poll revealed that 64% of students believe that text messaging in class draws their attention away from lectures. Several semesters ago I had to go to a “no cell phones in sight” policy because it just got out of control Pierce said. Students think they can do it all and they won’t be distracted, but I think they are. Kevin Tague, a third year health science major, said he rarely text messages but it still affects his concentration. In result, there is much greater responsibility put on teachers to help rectify the situation so that students will be prepared for the rest of high schools, as well post-high school writing. The abbreviations resulting from cell phone technology communication and the demand for instant communication has resulted in conflicted thinking making its way into schools nationwide, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.
