1. Introduction

Nowadays, many economists have argued that there is a strong relationship between education and poverty. Poverty has been recently one of the main concerns of researchers and economists, as it’s the source of freedom to individuals and fundamental human rights (Hogan 2006: 253,260). While education is a fundamental right to all human beings, it helps everyone since their early ages to increase their knowledge, and to develop strong personality (Richter and Mcphersonb 2012:206).The focus of this paper is to discuss how education may affect poverty in Egypt.

In addition, this paper proves that there is an inversely proportional relationship between the increase in the level of education and the poverty rate in Egypt.
