Introduction:

Brand Model and Talent Agency is a privately owned modeling agency located in Southern California that is a full service SAG franchised agency servicing clients worldwide. They have built a reputation as one of the top modeling agencies on the West Coast. They specialize in representing both models and talent with divisions in Fashion Print, Plus Size, Runway, Kids, Lifestyle Commercial Print, Promotions, Showroom, Fit, and Television Commercials.

General Environment:

Economic

1) The current economic environment: In the United States, there is a post-recession environment, however, it is still not that great of an economy at the present time.

2) What the U.S. economic environment look like for Brand Agency: With less people spending because of the current economic environment status in the United States, the fashion and entertainment industries are struggling. With the industries struggling, Brand Agency will probably have to cut back on hiring new models, as well as merging some of the current employee positions within the company since clients will most likely not be hiring as many models to advertise their products.

Sociocultural

1) Current trends in the United States: Some current trends circulating throughout the United States would include healthier eating, different types of clothes and fashion, various makeups, aspiring to be tall and skinny, using Photoshop to hide or get rid of any blemishes as well as making models thinner, and fashion shows like the Victoria Secret Fashion Show.

2) How these trends impact the company: These trends affect Brand Agency by possibly pushing the agency to hiring certain types of people or models to please the current trends within the industry. Brand Agency is also more likely to use more of Photoshop to create the image of the perfect model that consumers find most appealing. Hiring younger aged models to stay relevant in the fast changing industry would also be an impact from the current cultural trends.

Company Strategy:

Brand Model and Talent Agency's company strategy is the focused differentiation strategy. This is because the agency only provides models for print advertisements, commercials, and runway or fashion shows. They do not have a wide variety of talent,
