Organizational Structure

Wal-Mart is a major retail chain with an exceptional organization structure. The chain has a nationwide volume of stores exceeding 4,000. The gross earnings for the retail organization exceed more than $400 billion dollars in revenue in a year of sales. Wal-Mart is a large company with a large amount of success and popularity. Wal-Mart has an organization structure known as divisional structure. This is different than other organization ran on structures known as a matrix or a functional structure. When a corporation or business has a structure it can be distinct to each individual business. The way the operations are conducted in the segment can vary widely. This can be how information reported will be stated what actions are taken, and who is responsible for those situations. In the end they are trying to achieve a goal in the individual structure. They have a goal to reach and the room for errors is small to none. In each structure the system needs to be performed systematically to ensure a good routine and arrangement is in place to achieve the optimal results. In some divisional types of organizations this helps to build a company that will grow and also can diversify issues (Bateman & Snell, 2009).

In the requirements of the manager’s method of reaching a goal there must contain some form of organization. This will help to ensure the right choices are decided, and they have a set limitation. This is important measures for a divisional organization. This form of structure has the ability to present a better organizational system. When Wal-Mart directs the focus on a product, and customers, it will give each department the guidelines to be administered. It is important to divide responsibility to each individual section to form organization and structure. This allows a distribution of all work needed to be accomplished to reach the goals.
