Ethical and Moral Issues in Business

The purpose of this paper is to concentrate on business ethical issues. We are faced with these problems in our everyday life, either at school, work and in our personal lives within our surroundings. Further more there will be real-world examples of ethical problems illustrated in which we face in today’s business environment that affects our population and organizations. There are three ethical issues that contain layoffs of countless employees, sexual harassment, and favoritism.

Ethical and moral issues are something that we come across with at some point in a business environment. In a professional surrounding, all business workers should act in a manner that would support the well being of the public. Some people do not quite understand the meaning of ethics and what it means to be ethical. Morals are embedded within each individual at a premature age to guide each on how to determine good from bad behavior. When these morals are combined as a normal for societies behavior, they’re called ethics. When expressing ethical behavior one has to make the decision between right and wrong.

Men and women are thought to conduct themselves with upmost self-respect in the office setting. Their workplace also dictates our verbal and non-verbal good behavior. How we behave in our workplace goes a long way when forming a rock-solid reputation.

The differences between personal and business ethics is that sometimes those two roles

May be conflicted with ones personal and business life. Typically people resolve their conflicts by depicting a line connecting their role as a professional and individual. Both parties may disagree, however

may follow a professional code of ethics when acting in a professional setting. Each of us

is challenged with the belief of ethical or moral values that may be unfair or

immoral in certain situations or environments. As individuals, we have to view the

safety measures on resolving this type of pressure. Not everyone agrees or gets along, though should do the best to their ability to function appropriately within the company

(Treviño & Nelson, 2007).
