1. Application Essay;

• Critically analyze the theoretical background and the application of one of the many concepts you have learned in this module.

• This can be a project in which you were involved in motivating people in your organizational setting, or it could be Team building or Leadership or any other concept.

• Consequential analysis and learning from either successes or failures of such projects are equally valuable.

• Agree the topic beforehand with your tutor.

2. Contrast at least two leadership styles of leaders of your choice by studying and critically analysing Leadership theories in organisations. Critically assess relevance to the current economic climate.

3. Critically assess how do a number of theories of motivation apply to people in your organisation. Critically analyse whether these theories are now dated or still applicable.

4. A common question situation recruiters ask prospective candidates is how they would motivate their staff. Can employees be motivated? How? Critically debate relating to theories and practice, and your experience if applicable.

5. It is the trend in the organizations which work in the built environment to encourage their people to work in teams. What if some people prefer to work individually such as specialists. Critically analyze this issue in practice and according to team theories.

6. Some say there is one constant and that is Change in organisations. Thinking of organisational theories and management, do you think people and organizations in the built environment consider and manage change as a threat or as an opportunity?
