The use of steroids in baseball has always been in a state of question in today's society. As a huge fan of the sport since early childhood, I have always been knowledgeable of the sport of baseball and all of the action surrounding it. I am very aware of the different reasons that people may argue that steroids corrupt baseball. Many fans of the sport argue that the use of steroids in baseball creates an unfair advantage to some players and damages important parts of the human body. The problem with this thought is that it does not cover the true problems with baseball. The one and only problem that the use of steroids in baseball creates is that it sends a terrible message to children and that is why steroids need to stay out of baseball.

There are often only two sides to an argument. In this case the problem presented is the use of steroids in baseball. There are very few people who argue that steroids are good for baseball, whereas there are many people who argue that steroids are terrible for baseball. The true problem lies within the argument that the use of steroids is bad for baseball.

Steroids have always been seen as a terrible implementation to baseball among many sports. Has anyone ever looked at the good side to the use of steroids in baseball? This argument puts forth many issues for organizations and how steroids may help solve them.

The first argument for steroids relies in the fan's perception of baseball. A fan attends a game for the excitement of the sport. The excitement present that normally includes home runs, triples, and game winning hits that serve in order to stir up the crowd. But the excitement in baseball is most often seen on the offensive side of the game. What would pump you up more, a walk off home run, or a game winning catch in the outfield? The majority of fans would answer the home run. This is where steroids come into play. Steroids help a player generate more hormones which allow the player to gain more muscle at a faster rate. This allows the player to hit the ball farther than other players who do not use it. That is the good part about it. Many people may see someone hit the ball just over the fence because a fan grabbed the ball out of the player's glove, and then the very next play the fans get extremely excited about the fact that Barry Bonds hit a ball into the San Francisco Bay. Baseball is solely here for entertainment. Whether a huge fan or not, what brings you to the games is the excitement.

Organizations triumph from athletes using steroids. It is known that the best teams have the best seasonal attendance. The reason why the Yankees are the most popular team in the MLB is because they have the most success and excitement in the league. The excitement brings more fans to the stadium and therefore more revenue to the team. This is great for franchises. Players who use steroids create a huge revenue gain for teams with the exciting plays they conduct.
