What is critical thinking?

Critical thinking is a process that encompasses a lot of information on the information you are allowed in an argument. From looking at where the information came from, to finding out the reasons behind the decisions of past answers. You are advised to look deeper than you would otherwise do in collecting the information, by looking at both sides and then looking at the processes that are entailed in the process itself. After this course you should be adept at critical thing in your processes of information in regards to everyday communication. Whenever you have to write a quick memo to a colleague you should know all about why you came to the answer that you are going to give, from the tone of your note to the ease of reading it. You must be able to ascertain if there is any ambiguity in the sentence or paragraph, to making sure that there is no rambling on about the subject. I think that a very good critically thought out answer is a relatively short answer, but at the same time the answer should have clear, concise, ambiguity free, and bias free elements.

Critical thinking can be seen as having two components: 1) a set of information and belief generating and processing skills, and 2) the habit, based on intellectual commitment, of using those skills to guide behavior, (2010). Critical thinking can be used selfishly, but be warned if you use it that way you are saying that you are intellectually flawed because you are promoting a groups ideal or your own. If you use fair minded critically thinking you are going to labeled as an idealist by the selfish ones. You must be able to ascertain the audience in getting to the answer in your argument through critically thinking, you do want to have too much bias, or too much morality in your answer either.
