Around The Globe Episode 2- Namibia (Culture)

Namibia the beautiful, warm, vast, and treacherous lands. People are everywhere, speaking in their click language and dressed in their traditional attire that has been carried on for years. The attire being a piece of fabric tied in the front, allowing them to stay cool enough in the blazing heat. These people are a prime example, of what it really means to keep culture around as a survival necessity. These people lived in conditions, unlike the United States. Much higher temperatures, which gives us an example of how we as humans can adapt to anything that is out of our comfort. Some things however do change, as years pass. Social interaction changes. It isn't always face to face contact and when it is in person it can differ drastically from how it was generations before.

It is extremely hard to live in the dessert that they live in; but an outstanding them about the people whom live there is their vast knowledge they have to get them through the conditions. The women obtain information about plant property, and about water sources that are safe for their children. Men knew how to look at tracks of animals, for a source of food. They became excellent hunters in the act of repetitively looking for meat. Their society also is one of the strongest there is. They had to bear through changing weather conditions, and deal with limited food availability from seasons to season. They also learned how to travel, just with family and just with the essential things that they would need for the trip. Of course men would do certain things as would women; but they never had a set role for what each gender would do. They equaled it out, giving fair amount of work for each man and woman. They did have down time, besides carrying out how to survive; they held dances and gatherings just like many other cultures do. They did not always work, but instead had a lot of down time. They told several stories to people and always had something going on to keep people entertained. Holding bonfires and making connections with people was an extremely important thing for them to do. There were several children, actually too many to have in such a part of the world. So the women would not birth more than one child. This made it easier to keep the number of people in balance with the amount of resources they had. Population
