Abortion; generations' way of society blowing off responsibility of their actions at the cost of a human life. How does society define abortion? Well, that depends. Dictionary.com gives the definition: "The removal of an embryo, or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy." Medterms.com says, "In medicine, an abortion is the premature exit of the products of conception (the fetus, fetal membranes, and placenta) from the uterus. It is the loss of a pregnancy and does not refer to why that pregnancy was lost." Alarming statistics now show that an innocent un-born child is killed by abortion every 22 seconds, in the United States. Abortion should be illegal in all states. Abortion should be illegal because an unborn child, is still a person, abortion is murder, and results in negative effects on women's physical and mental health.

An unborn child is a person. We can reference the definition of life from the following found on, prolifephysicians.org, the scientific textbook, ‘Basics of Biology:' "First, living things are highly organized. Second, All living things have an ability to acquire materials and energy. Third, all living things have an ability to respond to their environment. Fourth, all living things have an ability to reproduce. Finally, fifth, all living things have an ability to adapt." From this definition of life, we know that life begins at fertilization when a sperm unites with an oocyte. From this moment, the person is highly organized, has the ability to acquire materials and energy, has the ability to respond to his or her environment, has the ability to adapt, and has the ability to reproduce. Non-living things do not do these things. Even before the mother is aware that she is pregnant, a distinct, unique life has begun his or her existence inside her. Within weeks, nerves are formed and growth is rapid. In addition, Senator Rand Paul points out, that we can "bring the definition of life with the biological definition, and see that a person is growing and living." Senator Paul also exclaims, "We do not get to play God with innocent lives. Judges do not get to define, ‘life.'" Speaking of God, in the Bible, he said, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee." –Jeremiah 1:5 Each individual has worth. It has been stated that if we don't find the worth of each organized life, than we do no better than path that led to the ovens of Auschuitz with Hitler.

CAUTION! Strong content: "Sorry, but abortion does not make you un-pregnant, it makes you the mother of a murdered baby." Abortion is murder. Referencing, criminal.findlaw.com, "First degree murder is defined as an unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated…‘lying in wait,' for the victim." In Modesto, California, Laci Peterson
