When William Hays installed the production code into the film industry movies were made for all aged viewers. Which wasn’t bad because there was no separation between families when going to the movies. Although I think that the new letter- rating system is better for movie viewers in a sense that sometimes profanity and obscenities maybe make a movie funnier or better enjoyed by the audience. With the letter system it creates separation in families, because now adults need babysitters to go see adult films which creates a hassle for the viewer that wouldn’t have been created if there was still the production code. But in my opinion the perks to having the letter system works not only because a variety of more films are made there are more topics that can be touched on while making movies it doesn’t have to be sunshine and rainbows not that the films were always nice. Its just with the letter system it seems the movies with letter system paint a better picture.

The letter system consist ultimately of 9 letter ratings, G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, x, xx, xxx, xxxx which of the 9, 4 are mainly used for pornographic content. For films not hinting pornography the first 5 are mainly used, G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17. These first 5 “G...
