3. What was the result of the formation of the National Assembly

Loius 16 see no way that he can ignore the National Assembly so he recognizes it as a lawmaking body and ancourages the first and second Estates to join it. As he is saying this, he also calls troops into Versailles as a precaution. This creates distrust between the National Assembly and Louis.

What happens at Versailles starts having a ripple effect. Thestorming and capture of the Bastille, on July 14 1789 was a direct result of the formation of the National Assembly and the Tennis Court Oath. Another ripple effect is the Peasent Revolt in the summer.

The national assembly responds to these two uprisings by abolishing the feudal system on August 4th. This meant that they took away rights that nobility had simply because they were on top. They removed absolutism through banning feudal taxes, hunting rights, and general tax exceptions.
