Should People Take More Responsibility for Solving Problems That Affect Their Communities or the Nation in General?

People would rather fault the government for the problems in their life instead of taking responsibility and trying to find suitable solutions themselves. Taking responsibility for solving those issues which people can face in their community is vital to ensure the prosperity of the latter. Rafic Hariri’s experience and the American Revolution are good examples that illustrate the efficiency of people’s actions to overcome obstacles.

A government has limited capital for its public system inclusive of aid for the unemployed, health care, and transport systems. Usually, governments budget for unemployment exceed any other field. However, individuals can resourcefully solve this problem. Rafic Hariri, a Lebanese politician, delved into the unemployment intricate problem in Lebanon and became the role model for many young educated people. Hariri has provided freshly graduates with job opportunities by establishing firms and companies. Such a practice diminished the number of the unemployed in my country and led to the revitalization of the economy.

The United States of America is another example that shows the necessity for active participation of a society. The United States of America came into existence because its citizens were outraged at the cruel treatment they were subjected to under the British government. Had the American citizens not stepped in and took charge of their own community; they would have had to continue to pay excessive taxes and would not have gained their independence after what came to be known as the American University.

We can therefore see from Rafic Hariri’s experience and the American Revolution that society indeed benefits greatly if its citizens take part in solving the knotty problems they face.
