Government Vs. Politics

Government and politics are two terms that are often confused as terms that convey the same meaning. There are many ways that these two terms are similar, but they also have many differences. Politics and government work together to form our laws, taxes, and manage the states and districts we inhibit. Neither term is better or worse than the other. There has always been negative connotations associated with politics and government.

Government and politics are similar and cannot exist without each other. Politics, if you will, is the job application for government. It involves the activities associated with the governance of a country, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties hoping to achieve power. Politics and government consist of people attempting to govern a country, state, district, or even a school. Without government there would be no need for politics, and without politics, a government would never form.

Politics refers to the process followed by the leaders of political groups or parties who rule the country. On the other hand, government refers to the actual group of people who rule the country and create laws, taxes, and manage revenue. Government consists of rules and regulations, and is all about administration. Unlike government, politics can be seen in education, cultural relationships, sports and art, and is all about the affairs of the government.

Ronald Reagan said it best, "The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would steal them away." This is one of many negative connotations that surface at the face of government and politics. Several people have the belief that their tax dollars only pay for political races and the presidents vacation. While, this is true to an extent, this isn't the only thing that tax dollars are allocated for. A study done by Rasmussen Reports in June of 2013 showed
