There is a hand full of companies that you can say any where in the world and people will know exactly what you are talking about McDonalds and their golden arches have made an impact in every part of the world. This once small American fast food restaurant has set the stage for success.

Started in 1940 in San Bernardino California from one small restaurant have grown to over 34,000 locations in 118 countries and employing 1.7 million people around the world making it the fastest growing fast food restaurant. In all these different countries McDonalds have been very smart to succeed, with globalization comes changes different places like different things and the genius that is this company has listened to the different people and offering different items at different locations along with the Big Mac that has made them famous to begin with. This has made a huge part to their international success and leading the way for multinational corporatizations by conforming to local culture.

With growth and success there must be changes adapted to keep the company running at a consistently high level of success. Along with the normal technology that must corporations have such as routers, main frames, and computer security there are always implementing new technologies at their locations to better optimize the experience for the customer. In the 1970’s from their high rate at success they where able to move from having cash registers to computerized point of sale (POS) and later to the touch screen machines. They have also incorporated free Wi-Fi in most of their locations geared at the younger more tech savvy customers.

Innovation can be one of the main reasons why this company has grown so fast and done so well for itself. From having the fist drive through window to today the company continues to thrive in new and uncharted territory. While we order through the normal drive up menu we assume we are talking to some one inside the building
