Freedom and independence has always been the reason why so many people want to come to the U.S but they soon find out that it is all a lie. That your rights to vote and work are limited, if you have ever been to prison you can't vote for the nation's leader so your voice can never be heard. Everyone is always talking about the woman's suffrage but what about male suffrage?

Suffrage consist of the extension of the right to vote to all adults, without any distinction as to race, belief, intelligence, sex, or social status. It began in the 1800s and only took place in some countries when it was initiated. It happened the most in the Early United States because African Americans after being freed from slavery were still excluded from participating in political elections until the 19th century due to the 15th amendment. Indians were also susceptible to male suffrage because they were not allowed to vote either, they actually had less rights then the African American people had. Many people tried and did make laws to belittle the colored but the most successful was Jim Crow and his laws hence "the Jim Crow Laws".

The Jim Crow laws were one of the biggest examples of male suffrage in the United States. Jim Crow practiced discrimination towards blacks. Jim Crow laws also made laws that said who a colored person can and can't marry and of what generation they have to be; white women were not one of the races they were allowed to marry. In Alabama it was even said that a nurse could not be forced to help or work in a ward or room that is holding an African-American patient. This all happened because blacks were not allowed to have a voice or vote for these laws. For example segregation from schools to bathrooms to prisons and African Americans had no say what so ever in these laws. Even Blind people were separated from each other and they couldn't tell the difference between a colored or non-colored person. The Jim Crow Laws
