Criminal Justice Integration: Technologies

Technological change has occurred in recent years is so fast that could actually agree that the numerous of jobs within the law enforcement field might not even exist today. Technology is changing rapidly in the way police departments operate, how they communicate with each other, and how law enforcement officials are able to prevent crimes from happening. Technologies funded today were not even common knowledge just a few years ago. It is essential for law enforcement executives to stay current with ongoing technological developments. Today’s executives need not only to be cognizant of developing technology but also to have a working knowledge of what this technology can do for their agencies.

Executives must be skilled in acquiring technology through a variety of funding sources. These technologies function are different was to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and the safety of law enforcement officials as well as the citizens. Another benefit of the new and improve technologies are the enjoyment and learning experience working with the various equipment, which can boost morale within each department. “Four years later, technology has taken another leap forward, and technology only dreamed about is now common place in police departments. Upcoming technologies currently ranges from the head-mounted cameras, license plate readers, even electronic tracking systems, which can help officers track any stolen money, goods, or even identity theft. While technology is beneficial to law enforcement officials, it can unfortunately be beneficial to criminals. Crime can occur via social media with threats and harassment of one other. Financial is a huge crime that happens a lot in today’s society that can be monitored and prevented with today’s technology. Some technology used by law enforcement agencies. Technology will continue to evolve and it will continue to aid law enforcement officers.
